The last city our Cruise stopped at was Limon, the capital city of Limon province of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is a small country in Central America bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east. It was independent in 1940 and  abolished the military in 1948, and oversaw the drafting of a new constitution by a democratically elected assembly.

Limon found in 1876, is the sixth largest city of the country, and the least visited region of the country, owing to its relative isolation (and mosquitoes).

Four of us had a walk in the city with the map.

Not far from the harbour there is the The Parque Vargas park

The pavilion at the Balvanero Vargas park

Inside the Balvanero Vargas Park there were high threes and status

Statue shows it is a happy island country with high education funding.

Above is city hall building

People lined up there and wait patiently.

The court building.

local people in the street. Costa Rica has high index of happiness and education. Free education to  Grade 12.

So were us.

The busy streets, no traffice lights

No accidents :-D

Above is the The cathedral. Its bell tower is the tallest building in the city.

The old cathedral was seriously damaged after the earthquake of 1991.

In 2000, the first stone for its morden cathedral was laid.

The cathedral took place is 2010.

A young gentelman lead us for a tour around the cathedral and gave us a very detailed introduction.

Almost 70.5% of population are Catholicism , 13.8% Protestantism. Above photo is a Christian church.

People seem satisfied with their life.

USD is accepted in Costa Rita. One USD = 572 CRC.

Happy color of the wall.

People every where look relax.

So did us

Ignore the uncalm waves.

Back to our Cruise

Our  MS Zuiderdam docked at Limón's Port terminal.

The Cruise sailed to the sea and spent 2 nights to return to Lauderdale.
